If I open the bonnet at the end of a run with caravan on, top and bottom hoses are extremely hot, but absolutely no fan and gauge is sat at half way as per normal. Caravan is about 1100kg. There isn't a temperature sensor in the rad, all done by engine management by a sensor on the cylinder head. The fan cuts in through 4 stages.
Car is a 2010 "60" reg mk4 Mondeo 1.8 TDCI Zetec. I'm wanting to fit brighter led rear amber indicator bulbs but have been told that if my car has canbus or bulb failure warning system, I will also need to fit resistors.

There are 50C and 70C metal temperature sensors under the Air Cleaner.
